Featured Speakers:

Stephanie Troemel | Sarcastic Sewist

I am a regular pattern tester, fabric hoarder, and general sewing enthusiast in my downtime.  My mission in life is to encourage other sewists to learn, grow, and love their creations, as well as themselves.

I don’t think my grandma thought teaching me to sew when I was about 6 would lead to all the craziness in my world today.  While clothes are my passion, I also enjoy making quilts, wallets, and other accessories.  I love the responses I receive on my blog of other sewists and crafters who are encouraged by seeing a fellow sewist, and a plus size one at that, sharing all the things!  I discovered a new area to love in sewing when I started working for Rebecca Page in 2017.  I have a new way to interact with other sewists and share my love and knowledge of sewing, plus all the behind the scenes action!

Katy McKinley | Wild + Wanderful

Katy McKinley is a self proclaimed “maker of things” from Wheeling, West Virginia. By day, she runs the back office of an architectural and engineering firm. By night, she is a blogger, maker, mover and shaker. Through her blog Wild + Wanderful, she shares her apparel sewing projects and her love of the Star Wars and Marvel fandoms, she offers free tutorials and sewing patterns, she has a shop full of unique digital cut files, and she launches episodes of her interview-style podcast “I Can Make That: Conversations with Creatives”. Katy is also an assistant at Patterns for Pirates, an indie PDF pattern company that specializes in apparel sewing patterns for the whole family.

Chris Shapiro | Sewjourns

I was introduced to sewing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania through my church.  A number if women there sewed and I became very interested after helping out with costumes for a church play. My husband saw my growing passion and gifted me a sewing machine for my 40th birthday.  I dove into hours and hours of YouTube videos and timeless sewing books that I had picked up at thrift stores. I joined an online sewing forum called Sewing Mamas where I met the most talented and caring ladies who became my sewing mentors and friends.  That was 18 years ago and we still meet online and share our sewing passion to this day.  I am avid PDF pattern tester and an Ambassador for a couple of PDF pattern companies as well as fabric companies.  A few years ago I started a sewing blog which turned into my YouTube channel called Sewjourns where I come alongside my viewers as we journey into sewing from patterns, techniques, tips, tricks and more.

Knit Fabric Sewing Summit | 25-27th September 2020

Meet Your Host

Rebecca Page is the founder of the hugely popular sewing brand, www.rebecca-page.com.

She learnt to sew as a child and loved it. But as the years passed, she found traditional paper patterns hard to use (that tissue paper tears so easily!), the instructions difficult to follow and fitting for personal shape almost impossible.

Rebecca found the solution when she started to draft her own patterns part-time at home while having her 3 young children. It’s quickly exploded into a global business with 500,000+ followers and 31 lovely team members (all working from home around the world!).
